Who is Rika Baum?

 I am a mother, a proud fire wife, and a parent with children currently enrolled in our district. With more than 20 years of experience working with children. I am committed to ensuring every student has a supportive learning environment and the educational opportunities they need to succeed in the future. 

The Alta Loma School District has amazing teachers, service providers, and campus support. And I want to ensure every student and their family receives an exceptional educational experience. 

For children to be lifelong learners, their school district must focus on more than academic achievement. As Superintendent Sherry Smith stated, it is about helping every student develop the knowledge, character, confidence, and resilience they need to succeed.

Therefore, my objectives as a school board trustee are: 

1. To improve communication between schools and families. We need to listen to and act on parents’ concerns and strengthen engagement. 

2. To provide teachers with professional development opportunities so that they can better support our children. 

3. To achieve fiscal transparency, accountability, and stability so we can gain the trust of our families and community. They need to know how we spend their tax dollars. 

My objectives are achievable and I believe together we can accomplish it.

A voice for every student, a seat for every family.
